MANDALA

This project comprises of a week-long visit by the Venerable Losang Samten to create a Amitabha sand mandala in the Penn State Abington Art Gallery. Throughout the visit, students and members of the campus community are invited to participate and learn from V. Samten about the history, practice, and symbolism in sand mandalas, as well as Buddhism and the Tibetan diaspora. At the conclusion of the visit, a dismantling ceremony and campus blessing takes place.
